Invite someone to Gather
Send a colorful email invitation with a link to create an account. They will verify their email after signing up.
User accounts
Inactive accounts cannot sign in or reset their password. Deleting an account removes its login and list memberships; shared grocery items stay on the lists.
Recipe Book is a shared catalog. All administrators and verified users who sign up from shared recipe links receive access by default; use the checkbox to grant or remove access for each user. Last active times use your local time zone. Activity tracking starts with this update.
Master categories
Categories are shared across the app. Renaming one updates existing lists. Deleting one moves its foods and grocery items to Other.
Food & category database
Gather saves new foods and remembers category changes when users move an item. Review learned matches here and correct mistakes. Changes apply to future additions; you can also update existing list items when saving a correction.
Backups & recipe imports
Protect all Gather accounts, shopping lists, recipes, photos, food matches, categories, and email settings.
Download a complete backup
Your backup is encrypted. Keep its password somewhere safe; you will need it to restore. Sign-in sessions and temporary verification/reset links are not restored.
Import recipes from Mealie
Choose a Mealie ZIP backup. Review its recipe count, then import recipes and photos into the shared catalog. Recipes already imported are skipped. Gather accounts and shopping lists are kept.

Restore a Gather backup
Restoring replaces the current Gather data with the backup. Everyone will need to sign in again using the accounts and passwords in that backup. A recovery copy of the current data is saved on the server first.
Email & SMTP
Enter your email provider’s SMTP details. Save them, then send yourself a test email before using password resets.
